Art in cultural upheaval
On the occasion of the ARTeNIM in Nimes, Davood Roostaei’s works will be on display for the first time at a major art fair in Europe. Roostaei was born and raised in Iran. He fought uncompromisingly for human rights and was punished with imprisonment under both the Shah’s regime and the mullahs. In 1984 he emigrated to Germany. After completing his art studies and first successes as a freelance painter, he moved to California, where he lives and works today.
